How to reach us

Villa Santa Margherita is located right by the historic center of Cortona and is easy to reach by car, train and bus. You can drive to the hotel without entering the ZTL (limited traffic zone).

By car

From the A1 motorway (Autostrada del Sole), take the Valdichiana exit and join the Bettolle–Perugia motorway link road towards Perugia. Take the second exit, Cortona – San Lorenzo, and follow the signs for Cortona to Viale Cesare Battisti 17.
The hotel has a private on-site car park, available by reservation, with a numbered space and free in-and-out access throughout your stay (cars €10 per night, motorbikes €5). Spaces are limited, so we recommend booking it together with your room.

By train

  • Camucia-Cortona station (Florence–Rome line, regional trains): the closest station, about 5 km from the hotel.
  • Terontola-Cortona station: also served by Intercity trains on the Florence–Rome line, and the arrival point for trains from Perugia and Assisi. About 13 km from the hotel.

By bus

From Camucia station, the SU5 shuttle bus operated by Tiemme – Toscana Bybus leaves every hour at 45 minutes past the hour (8:45, 9:45, 10:45…). Get off at the “Viale C. Battisti di fronte n.c. 17” stop, right in front of the hotel. Please let the driver know when you get on, as the bus only stops there on request.
From Terontola station, the regular bus service arrives at Piazzale del Mercato, about 800 metres from the hotel.
Tickets and timetables: tickets can be bought at authorised tobacconists in Cortona and Camucia, on board (with a surcharge) or online on the Trenitalia website or app. On Trenitalia, enter “Cortona Piazza Garibaldi” or “Cortona Piazza del Mercato” as your destination to find up-to-date timetables.

By taxi

There is no taxi rank at Camucia or Terontola stations and availability is limited, so we recommend booking a taxi in advance. On request, our reception staff will be happy to provide local taxi contacts and help you with your booking, subject to availability.
