Agri Young – La Notte Gialla 2026: Cortona celebrates young agriculture and authentic food

On Thursday, July 2, Cortona is preparing to welcome the 14th edition of Agri Young – La Notte Gialla, the historic event promoted by Coldiretti Giovani Impresa Arezzo and dedicated to agriculture, young agricultural entrepreneurs, and the promotion of genuine, high-quality food.

The event will transform Cortona’s historic centre into a meeting point for institutions, local producers, residents and visitors, with a programme combining discussion, tradition, entertainment and gastronomy.

The day will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Piazza della Repubblica with the Welcome Area, designed to greet participants and introduce the various stages of the event.

At 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber, the main institutional discussion will take place: the Ideas Area, dedicated to the theme “Generation of farmers: the strength of the land against the deception of fake food.”

The debate will be moderated by journalist Alessandro Maurilli and will feature a contribution from Riccardo Fargione, director of the Aletheia Foundation, who will present data and reflections from his book “Cibi Falsi”. The meeting will focus on the defence of health, food transparency and the true Mediterranean Diet, in contrast to ultra-processed products and imitations of Made in Italy.

At the end of the discussion, the event will move outdoors towards the Parterre Gardens, accompanied by a performance by the Gruppo Storico Sbandieratori e Musici Città di Cortona, bringing the charm of Cortona’s tradition to the heart of the event.

From 7:30 p.m., the Parterre Gardens will become the gastronomic centre of the evening, turning into a real open-air Campagna Amica food court. Food trucks from local businesses will offer high-quality street food made with zero-kilometre products, designed to showcase a healthy, transparent food model closely linked to the local area.

Agri Young – La Notte Gialla will therefore be not only a celebration, but also an opportunity to reflect on the value of young agriculture, the protection of local products, and the importance of choosing authentic food.

For those staying in Cortona during those days, the appointment on July 2 is an ideal opportunity to experience the historic centre in a lively and shared atmosphere, among agricultural culture, local flavours and conviviality.
